Man dies after alleged assault

A 66-YEAR-OLD Gin Gin man has died in hospital after he was allegedly involved in an altercation with his neighbour on Christmas Eve.

The man suffered serious head injuries during the alleged assault at New Moonta, near Gin Gin. 

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he spent several days on life support before he died about 12.30am today.

 A 50-year-old man appeared in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on December 28, charged with grievous bodily harm in relation to this incident.

Police investigations are continuing.
