Man crushed in tractor mishap

A MAN sustained injuries to both legs after he was crushed in a tractor accident on Friday afternoon.

The man, in his 70s, damaged both his legs after the bucket of a tractor fell and pinned him against a metal grid, at a rural property about 20km south of Mundubbera.

The man freed himself from under the bucket and managed to walk a short distance to call 000.

The Queensland Ambulance Service took him to Mundubbera Hospital before Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue was called in to airlift him to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.

He travelled in a stable condition.

At 4.30pm on Saturday, the Bundaberg crew was tasked to Double Island Point, near Rainbow Beach, where a woman in her mid-30s had reportedly succumbed to a medical condition.

She was assessed at the scene, before being flown to Hervey Bay Hospital for further observation.
