Man fined for dodgy transaction

DAVID James Brackin was fined $540 in Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday after he pleaded guilty to attempted fraud and receiving tainted property.

Brackin, 17, tried to withdraw $2000 using a driver’s licence and credit card which did not belong to him from the Suncorp Bank branch at Sugarland Shoppingtown on January 7.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts took into account Mr Brackin’s degree of co-operation and lack of prior record into account.

No conviction was recorded.
