Man charged with deprivation of liberty

POLICE have charged a 47-year-old man with deprivation of liberty following an incident where another man was allegedly threatened with firearms.

Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Glenn Cameron said the charges were laid following an investigation.

"On June 13 police commenced an investigation in relation to an incident that happened west of Bundaberg where a male was threatened with firearms," he said.

"As a result of that investigation police have arrested a 47 year old male from Bundaberg and he appeared in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday) and was remanded in custody.

"The victim was a 33 year old Bundaberg male."

Rodney Thomas Hills appeared in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on three additional charges including threatening violence and possessing dangerous drugs.

He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to appear at a later date.
