Man charged after boy, 4, drowned in Gayndah last year

A 32-YEAR-old man has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a four-year-old boy in Gayndah last year.

Police said the investigation followed the drowning of a boy on February 21 last year.

As a result of extensive inquiries between members of the Maryborough Child Protection Investigation Unit and the State Crime Command's Child Trauma Task Force under Operation Lima Acute, detectives charged a Byrnestown man.

He appeared in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court and was remanded to reappear on March 17, police said.
