Man to challenge Mayor

THE first candidate to challenge Bundaberg Mayor Lorraine Pyefinch at next year's election has thrown his hat into the ring.

Scott Clark, 31, is a painter who runs his own business in Bargara.

And he is not shy to make his views known, posting his opinion of gay marriage on the NewsMail's Facebook page on Thursday last week.

"Its not natural! Its Adam and eve not Adam and Steve!" he posted.

He said yesterday he felt everybody was entitled to their own opinion.

Mr Clark said he had been thinking about running for "a couple of years", and he felt Bundaberg had been held back for too long.

"The council needs some younger blood in its veins," he said.
