Man accused of kicking cop at Toowoomba CBD pub

A MAN will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today after being arrested during an alleged drunken incident at an inner-city hotel Tuesday night.

It will be alleged the 39-year-old man had caused a disturbance at the Gladstone Hotel in Ruthven St to which police were called.

While being restrained by officers, the man struggled, allegedly kicking out at one police officer before he was arrested and taken to the Toowoomba police watch house where he remained in custody overnight.

He has been charged with serious assault of police, drunk and disorderly on a licensed premises and obstructing police at a licensed premises while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.
