Man breaches bail

A MAN allegedly threatened his partner and her child before pouring beer over the woman and assaulting a member of the public.

Andrew Michael Zell, 34, of Millbank, was arrested on September 8 and yesterday pleaded guilty to breaching bail.

He is also charged with common assault and breaching a court order, which defence lawyer Edwina Rowan said Zell intended to contest.

Following the alleged breach and assault on September 8, Zell was allowed bail on the condition he not visit the Millbank address where his partner was living.

However, the court was told he went to the address the same evening to pick up his vehicle and tools to go to Brisbane for work.

The man had spent 50 days in custody when he faced Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday, and he was sentenced to 50 days in jail for the breach, with time served declared.

Zell was allowed bail and is due to reapper on December 20 for the remaining charges.
