Mackay's Ben Barba sets the tone for the NRL grand final

BEN Barba and the Cronulla Sharks have defeated Melbourne Storm to get their hands on their first ever premiership trophy.

The Mackay junior set the tone of the game by working his magic and scoring the first try of the game for the Sharks.

Storm didn't manage to score in the first half, but went on to come back from an eight-point defecit.

No matter what the Storm threw at the white and blue, they just couldn't get past their need to win.

Sharks defeated Storm 14-12 in their NRL grand final clash.
