Lunch time chase ends at Maccas
DRAMA unfolded in Bundaberg CBD yesterday, with a lunchtime police chase in Targo Street about 12.30pm.
The chase, involving two police on foot, two paddy wagons and an unmarked car, started at the corner of Bourbong and Targo streets.
Bundaberg Police Superintendent Anne Macdonald said police officers had been talking to a man when he swore at them and made a break for it along Targo Street.
Supt Macdonald was in the area at the time and went to help the police when the call for assistance was made.
Police caught up with the 41-year-old man just outside McDonald’s, where he was arrested.
The man was charged with driving-related offences and obstructing police and will appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
