Lucky escape for van driver

THE driver of a van was lucky to walk away from his vehicle unharmed when he collided with the back of a ute yesterday morning on Bargara Road.

A Bargara Fire Service crew went to the scene and no-one could believe the elderly man was able to free himself from the van after the bonnet was severely indented from the impact.

The driver of the ute, a middle-aged man was not injured, only upset at the state of his ute.

The elderly driver of the van received treatment at the scene by an ambulance crew, but was believed not to be seriously injured.

Both cars were travelling along Bargara Road at the time of the crash.
