Localised flooding but roads clear

BUNDABERG residents have been getting their feet wet again, after more reports of localised flooding came in following heavy showers yesterday morning.

“We had four jobs (sandbagging), two at Moore Park, one at North Bundaberg and one in Bundaberg,” Bundaberg SES controller Bill Daniels said

Despite the rain, the RACQ reports that all roads in the Bundaberg region are now clear.

But parents have been warned that it is still extremely dangerous to let their children play near floodwaters.

“Over 70 people have drowned in the past nine weeks and our question is ‘why do so many people take the risks?’,” Hannah’s Foundation (which offers support for parents of drowned children) founder Kat Plint said.
