Gymnasts set for state titles

EXCITEMENT is building as Bundaberg’s finest young performers prepare for the annual Gymnastics Queensland State Championships.

The region’s top tumblers will battle it out with more than 700 of the nation’s most talented gymnasts next month.

The four-day event will include more than 45 local and interstate clubs and will feature Coral Isles PCYC who will be looking to build upon success from last year.

Kym Dowdell, Gymnastics Queensland Competitive Events Director, said the event, which included the Border Challenge and Sunshine Team Challenge, showcases the remarkable talent in Queensland.

“Events such as these enable the young Bundaberg gymnasts to not only compete for the coveted titles but also to learn from the best,” she said. “This event has always been a firm favourite for spectators and we encourage fans to come along to support the competitors as they demonstrate their remarkable skills."

The event will be held between September 17-20 in Caloundra.
