Isis Devils dominate Seagulls in physical BRL encounter

8.30PM: IT WAS not easy but Isis Devils did enough to defeat heavyweights Hervey Bay Seagulls 26-18.

The Bundaberg Rugby League triple header's main event was a highly physical encounter, with both sides putting extra oomph into each of their hits.

It all came to a head just after the half-hour mark, when fists flew and three men were sent for a 10-minute break.

The second half featured numerous penalties and dropped ball but by the time the final siren sounded it was Isis who stood tall.

6.40PM: THEY didn't quite reach the same attacking heights as last week but Brothers' 46-0 shut-out of Wallaroos was equally impressive.

Tempers boiled over at the end of the first half with the last five minutes dominated by push-and-shove.

Mat Templeman and Josh Crowley were sent to the sin bin for Brothers and Wallaroos respectively, as Brothers went to the sheds up 12-0.

They completely dominated the second half, leaving Wallaroos coach Colin Scott a mountain of work to do to turn his side's fortunes around.

5PM: WESTS Panthers overcame a potentially embarrassing result as they put Waves Tigers away 28-14.

The Tigers held a 10-point lead at halftime, but the Panthers stormed home to secure the five-tries-to-three victory.

Early in the first half Brothers lead Wallaroos 6-0.

2PM: Wallaroos overcame a spirited Brothers fightback to claim a 30-20 win.

The second reserve grade game at Childers Showground today, tempers threatened to boil over late in the game as both sides fought hard for the win.

Isis Devils forfeited to Hervey Bay Seagulls, with the next game to kick off at 3.15pm.

Waves Tigers will face Wests Panthers in their first grade game, before Brothers play Wallaroos at 5pm.

Isis Devils face Hervey Bay at 6.45pm in the main game.

12.30PM: EASTS Magpies defeat Maryborough Brothers 22-14 in the first reserve grade game at Childers Showground.

The Magpies overcame a 14-10 half time deficit and two sin-binned players to win.

EARLIER: CHILDERS Showground will roar to life today when it hosts a blockbusting day of Bundaberg Rugby League.

All third round fixtures will be played at the venue, with three A-grade and two reserve grade games setting the Furnace alight.

Isis Devils will face Hervey Bay Seagulls in tonight's main event at 6.45pm, with both sides ready for a tough challenge.

Fresh off a 90-point win Brothers will look to keep the momentum going against Wallaroos, who have so far proved to be more than capable of matching the best sides.

Meanwhile the toothless Waves Tigers hope Con Mika can restore their bite when they face Wests Panthers.
