Lions return to Bundy for clinics
AUSSIE RULES: The Brisbane Lions will be roaring back to the Rum City later this month to visit schools and children.
The AFL side will be in Bundaberg on February 19 and 20 before the team starts its pre-season on March 3.
The side will be sending six players and one coach to the region with those players to be decided a few days before the trip.
There will be no AFL women players involved, including Bundaberg's Emma Zielke, with the side focusing on their premiership campaign.
"This is sort of a yearly event, where we gets Lions to the area,” AFL development coordinator for Bundaberg Shaun Stone said.
"Most people in regional areas can't get to game or training to watch them live.
"This is next best thing for children to see the players.”
The Lions will visit 10 schools including ones in Gin Gin, Elliott Heads and Burnett Heads.
The trip is part of the Australia Post AFL Community Camps.
The side will also host a Auskick clinic at Shalom College from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on the Monday for children aged five to 12.
Entry is free for the clinic.
