Students to light up stage with music from popular movies

LIGHTS, camera, action and the stage of the Shalom Performing Arts Precinct will turn into a muscial feista as Bundaberg Vocal Academy hold its annual showcase.

Academy principal Kara James said the concert would focus on music from movies and would be one not to miss.

"We have songs from movies such as The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Muppets," Miss James said.

"The evening will be a mix of songs and stage routines with a feature act from Gypsy Lounge belly dancers."

Miss James said there was a combination of 40 girls and boys aged between five to 17 years of age performing on the night.

"The first half, students are preparing a Family Movie Night theme combining songs from movies," she said

"The second half of the show will be The Hall of Fame with popular yet unique arrangements of pop, rock, musical theatre and hip hop performances from our Glee Club, Beatboxing team, vocal classes and private students.

"We have a highlight of a High School Musical scene which the students are excited about," she said.

Miss James said it was the second annual concert to be held and she was excited, also because she would get to share the experience with her daughter Jordan who was also performing on the night.

The show will start at 5pm with preshow entertainment kicking off at 4.30pm this Saturday, tickets for the evening are $25 for adults, $15 for children and under four free and will be available on the door.
