LETTER: Tourism benefits tourists and locals

CONGRATULATIONS to you and your staff for the article (NM, 08/07) that promotes and highlights the magnificent benefits both the tourists and local people could be entertained by at the various venues throughout this region.

Your paper being sold throughout local venues and busy caravan parks featuring a hands on look at the places to visit and things you must do is akin to the gospel in spreading the word that Bundy is blooming, "so come and pay us a visit!".

The local tourist bureau could take a leaf out of the pages of the recently held Strawberry Fair in Windermere Rd, whereby the organisers employed another Bundaberg icon, Duffy's City Buses, to supply transport to this venue.

With events like this everyone is a winner: the shops, the tourists and last, but not least, the reputation of this city being in bloom.

So it would appear that local businesses and local politicians have forgotten your Bundaberg promotional articles so on behalf of a couple of greatly impressed grey nomad visitors I have entertained, I thank you for you assistance for the information that was penned in your paper.
