LETTER: Protest march

IN SATURDAY'S NewsMail Stephen Bennett is complaining about the proposed changes being made to the vegetation management laws by the government. He is calling for us to join him in a protest march later this year.

As usual, once again he has put the cart before the horse in so much that he is soliciting us to protest about an issue that most of us haven't a clue about.

He makes mention about how great the LNP management laws were, or in fact still are, as they have not to this date been changed.

So Stephen, how about you tell us all what you are on about.

It would be a logical step to take "before you lead the lambs to slaughter" that you explain to us all what the existing laws are and what the proposed changes are.

That should be the first step in the process, then we, the general public, can form our own opinion on whether the existing laws are adequate or require the modification proposed by the government.
