LETTER: Lost my vote

Normally I am an conservative voter, but this stuff-up by Telstra and the government made many undecided.

On November 6, I made a Bundle contract, on December 16 NBN installed a box and on December 22 Telstra was supposed to install the modem.

No technician turned up. A case manager cancelled the installation (not enough technicians). I pay $20 a month extra for platinum service - a joke.

After several visits to Telstra in Bundaberg (a 100km trip for us) I was given a modem to install myself. When I opened it at home the red cable was missing and one of the phone lines didn't work.

A phone operator help me to install it with alternative an alternative cable but after two month sit broke down, meaning no landline for three weeks and no internet.

Telstra then over charged us $331.

When power out there is no landline for emergencies. For all the trouble they credit us a lousy $ 2 credit, supposed to be credited in June but wasn't.

Is this the high technology the government promised?

Sixty years ago my father told me that by the end of the day if the pollies haven't earned the salt in the soup they have to bring money from home.

And how many millions have they spent to be re-elected? Hopeless bunch.
