LETTER: Carers don't care
THERE are people in the Wide Bay-Burnett Region who claim carer's payments and allowances or carer's allowances whose job is only washing the care receiver's feet.
Some on Carer's Allowance get this payment only to cook their dinner and wash the care receiver's clothes, some even leave the care receiver at home alone for up to six days while the carers do what they want to do.
So much for the eligibility requirements for these payments.
What a rort. No wonder our welfare bill has blown out.
