Weight loss myth buster on her way to Childers

AUSTRALIAN weight-loss "myth buster" Marie Bean will visit Childers next week as part of her national launch of Lazy Loser, a book that encourages people to slim down by avoiding dieting and to get fit the "lazy way".

Packed with humour and insider tips based on years of experience, Ms Bean says the book explodes many assumptions surrounding the food, dieting, fitness and weight loss world.

Ms Bean, a health and fitness consultant, said she loved nothing more than to bust myths relating to the industry about which she is so passionate.

"Diets are only ever successful when we're on them," Ms Bean said.

"Once we're off them, we put the weight straight back on.

"So it stands to reason that weight gain is caused by factors during the non-dieting phase of our life.

"Lazy Loser examines what these factors might be ... so it's for folks who never want to go on another diet in their life.

"It's also for those who feel guilty and stressed about what and how much they eat, but who'd like to stop putting on weight by eating and moving differently without overhauling everything in their life - if only they knew how.".

Ms Bean said she was looking forward to visiting Childers and sharing her experiences with the community.

"It's a really good talk; it's quite fun and interactive," she said.

"We find out everyone's eating temptations and I offer tips to deal with that."

Get inside tips on health and fitness from Ms Bean when she speaks at 10am on Friday, February 7, at the Childers Library.
