Lazy dumpers are destroying creek

IT SHOULD look like a bubbling waterway, not a festering, rubbish-filled dump.

South Kolan resident Fred Sheppard would prefer to spot a platypus or a bass rather than a pile of used tyres when he visits the Splitter's Creek causeway.

Mr Sheppard has spoken out against a worrying trend of lazy, inconsiderate people who dump their waste into the waterway.

A cow carcass, used tyres, seafood shells and general household rubbish were dumped during the Christmas period.

Mr Sheppard said residents plan to keep an eye out and note details of vehicles visiting the crossing.
