Laybutt signs new deal with Cowboys

LEAGUE: Bundaberg's Kyle Laybutt will remain a North Queensland Cowboys player for next season.

The 21-year-old has signed a deal with the club for next year after making his debut for the Cowboys in round 15 against Melbourne.

The former Easts and Wests junior has made two appearances for the Cowboys this season.

Laybutt joins Coen Hess in the Bundaberg players that have signed new deals for the Cowboys NRL side for next year.

Late last week, Patrick Kaufusi made the move to the Melbourne Storm.

Laybutt will now try to find his spot in the team against fellow halves Te Maire Martin and Johnathan Thurston.

He has been named as a reserve for this week's final against the Cronulla Sharks.
