'Large crocodile' closes popular north Queensland beach
TRINITY Beach has been closed following the sighting of a large crocodile.
Surf Life Saving Club North Queensland regional manager Rob Davidson said the "credible" sighting occurred just before 3pm yesterday, but hadn't yet been confirmed by a lifeguard.
"Trinity Beach has been closed… and will stay closed for a minimum of four hours," Mr Davidson said.
Signage alerting people of a recent crocodile sighting would also be put up for the next seven days.
"If people have any questions always talk to the lifeguard," Mr Davidson said.
"If the beach is closed stay out of the water and when you do visit the beach, when it's open, always swim between the red and yellow flags."
