
UPDATE: Kingaroy Shoppingworld re-opens after gas leak
UPDATE 10AM: KINGAROY Shoppingworld has re-opened following a gas leak.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said the evacuation order ceased at 9.40am.
"There was a blocked vent valve and a minor gas leak in a gas cylinder," the spokesman said.
"The leak was isolated."
EARLIER: KINGAROY Shoppingworld has been evacuated after a suspected gas leak.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said fire crews were called to the scene at 8.12am.
"We have two crews on the scene and another headed to the scene," the spokeswoman said.
"We were called to a hazard gas commercial.
"We arrived on scene and there was an odour emanating from the building."
The spokeswoman said fire crews had set up a team with breathing apparatus to investigate further.

"The centre has been evacuated and centre management, the Queensland Ambulance Service and police are on the scene," she said.
"Police arrived at 8.38am and there was no reading on the gas detector.
"We're still working to identify where the smell is coming from."
