Kindy gains a $9000 boost

BIGGENDEN Kindergarten and Daycare is happy to receive a grant in the latest funding announcements from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The group will receive about $9000.

The committee will use the funding for upgrading air-conditioning, kitchen facilities and installing a stove.

Biggenden Kindergarten and Daycare director Karyn Gordon is excited to be able to develop the children's growing interests in cooking and experimenting with how things develop and form.

“The installation of a new stove will allow the children to expand the building waterfalls curriculum currently being undertaken at Biggenden kindy,” she said.

“With the addition of kitchen facilities, children will be able to write and create recipes, developing literacy skills, build understanding of healthy food and learn how to make real food, thus bringing their outside play experiences into inside real life experiences.”
