A CYCLIST has been taken to Bundaberg Hospital with suspected minor injuries, after he was hit by a car at the intersection of McCarthy Street and Goodwood road last night.

Police investigations are continuing.

Traffic accident

BUNDABERG Police were called to the scene of a two-car traffic accident yesterday at 9.50am on Holland Street at Bargara.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

Group chairman quits

BURNETT Mary Regional Group chairman Russell Stewart has resigned for personal reasons.

On Thursday Mr Stewart asked the group’s board of directors for an early release from his contract. He will finish work in March.

Mr Stewart has been chairman of the group for almost four years.

He said the decision to resign was difficult.

“I have worked hard to make major improvements to the way that our group conducts its important business of repairing our local environment,” he said.

“I strongly believe that more reforms are needed.”
