John Butler set to play in Bundy
EXCITMENT is running high for John Butler Trio fans, with the blues and roots group set to play in Bundaberg for the first time.
Tickets for the May 14 show go on sale this morning and ticket sellers are predicting an influx of concert goers.
Moncrieff Theatre manager Amanda Weekes said the theatre had been told some people were planning to camp out to ensure they got tickets.
“I don’t think we have ever had anyone camping out for a show here before,” she said.
The April Uprising concert is the last the band will play in Australia before heading to Europe for an extended tour.
Much of the trio’s latest album was inspired by frontman John Butler’s experience during an episode of SBS documentary series Who Do You Think You Are?, which delves into family history.
“I always knew where I was going but I didn’t know why, in a heritage sense,” he said.
Tickets are available from the Moncrieff from 9am or by calling 4130 4100.
