Jervis Bay better than Byron Bay? No way!
THE Northern Rivers has been snubbed in an international battle of the beaches with the South Coast of NSW coming out on top ahead of Thailand, the Sunshine Coast, Sydney and the Gold Coast.
The area, encompassing Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay, Wollongong and others, received more page visits on popular online accommodation booker Wotif.com, than each of its daily rivals in a week-long battle voted mostly by Aussies and Kiwis.
Wotif.com Public Relations Manager Rhiannan Grant said the NSW South Coast had earned serious bragging rights after beating off some stiff competition.
"In Wotif.com's first ever Battle of the Beaches, we pinned beaches from around the world against each other," Ms Grant said.
"Our customers voted by clicking on the beach they either love visiting or want to visit in the future, then the beach with more clicks than its daily rival made it through to the next round.
"Northern NSW sealed their fate when paired against the Sunshine Coast in round two of the battle.
"The Sunny Coast then lost out to Southern NSW who ended up taking out the top spot."
Is the wotif.com survey clearly flawed?
