Jan is named top poet
AN INNES Park woman was awarded Overall Champion Female Poet in a competition that the Bundaberg Poets' Society travelled to during August 19-21.
The poetry festival was organised by North Pine Bush Poets and was attended by a number of members of the Bundaberg Poets' Society.
Bundaberg Poets' Society president Sandy Lees said a number of members participated in the competition.
“Several members were just happy to be a part of the audience while the others participated,” she said.
Jan Facey from Innes Park was successful in all four categories that she entered obtaining a third in the original humorous female category, first in the open classical/modern serious female category, second in the open classical/modern humorous female category and second in the open original serious female category.
Mrs Facey was also named the overall champion female poet for the weekend.
