Jack McInnes ready to fight Wallaby Quade Cooper

JACK McInnes has trained like a demon in preparation for the biggest, and final, fight of his career.

The 22-year-old successfully weighed in yesterday ahead of tonight's fight against Wallabies playmaker Quade Cooper.

The fight will be the seventh on a nine-fight Adelaide Oval card that features the long-awaited rematch between Anthony Mundine and Danny Green.

McInnes's coach Craig Glover said his charge was ready for the toughest challenge of his career.

"He's been training like a demon; his fitness has come a long way," Glover said.

"I don't doubt he's got the ability to do it. He's in the right headspace."

McInnes battled an elbow injury in the lead-up to this fight, but that hasn't stopped him from getting in the best possible shape since the late call-up.

Glover said he believed McInnes could not only last the four three-minute rounds, but win.

"Stamina-wise, he's got it. Injury-wise, hopefully he'll be able to get through," Glover said.

"If they don't target it then he should be okay."

The taller Cooper benefits from a far greater reach than his opponent, though Glover said he and McInnes had worked on the plasterer's fight game.

"We've worked on that a lot to combat that," he said. "He already had those skills but we've worked on it."

McInnes said he was confident he could surprise not only Cooper, but the critics who have voiced their opinion on social media since the weigh-in.

"I'm confident - anything can happen, it only takes one punch," McInnes said. "This will still be my last fight."

The fight will be shown on Foxtel's Main Event.
