It's horses of course

ALL cowboys and cowgirls are invited to slip on their boots and dust off their hats for a fun and learn day at the Deepwater Baffle Creek Riders Club.

The fun day of horse riding will take place this Saturday beginning at 9am at the Baffle Creek Sports and Recreation Grounds.

All school-aged children are invited to attend and learn about caring for horses, riding and do some formation riding.

If you have a horse bring it along, if not, do not panic, the friendly helpers will find you one to ride.

Boots and helmets are also required.

For more information, telephone 4156 6270.

Meanwhile, it is not too early to plan your Melbourne Cup outing.

Biggenden women will have a choice of venues at the Biggenden Bowls Club.

Club secretary Jan Cormie said doors will open at 10am, with a cent auction, sweeps and luncheon at midday in time for the big race.

The QCWA Biggenden branch will also be holding its annual chance to dress in cup day finery, with luncheon, sweeps, best-dressed competitions and a popular parade of Lifeline fashions.
