It’s good news for businesses

I'M HEARTENED by news that small businesses are feeling more optimistic about their economic growth.

That's according to a study from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland, the report says the Wide Bay economy has had a strong performance.

And the December quarter is apparently looking promising too - with Christmas shopping coming up sooner than we think.

I was recently in Brisbane, and usually I tend to love shopping there both for food and fashion items that I can't find back home.

This time around I didn't come back with all that much, and it's because there's just so much I can buy here at home now.

Every few dollars spent here has such a follow-on effect - so the more stores, the more businesses and the more variety on offer, the better we'll all feel.

I've long thought Bundaberg had the ability to support such growth, and we really seem to be enjoying a retail explosion at present.
