Insider’s guide to the best rooftop bars

Eleven Rooftop Bar is one to put on your hit list.
Eleven Rooftop Bar is one to put on your hit list. Georja Ryan

SEE the world from a different perspective atop of one of Brisbane's funkiest rooftop bars.

Here's a few sure to appeal, but don't take our word for it… check them out for yourself.

Sazerac Bar:  This one goes straight to the top… 30 floors, in fact. Sazerac Bar is the city's highest bar occupying the 30th floor of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at 99 Mary St. The carefully crafted concoctions paired back with tapas and funky beats are the perfect match for sweeping city views.

Insider tip: Tuesday is martinis and manicures, Wednesday is wine down and Friday is eats and beats.

Elixir Rooftop Bar: This rooftop bar is a subtropical oasis set high above Fortitude Valley's entertainment precinct. Head up the stairs to find a sleek and minimalist decor with plenty of greenery, cement tables and wooden day beds. The bar serves up an original mix of cocktails and is a classy place to stop by for a few drinks and graze the bar menu.

Insider tip: Thursday is Ribs & Red night. From 4pm, get a plate of ribs plus a glass of Cloudy Red Pinot Noir for $20.

Limes Rooftop Bar: Take the plunge and try out Limes - no really, the boutique hotel has two plunge pools up top that you can dive into for its rooftop cinema evenings or "just because" that's how you'd like to finish your evening out. Claiming the name as Brisbane's first rooftop bar, a renovation just last year has ensured this place is more on trend than ever.

Insider tip: Check online for the line-up of ex-box office flicks. Tickets are just $15, or $40 gets you two tickets plus a cocktail jug to share.

The Stock Exchange Rooftop: The Stock Exchange building has been around since 1863, so we're sure she's had plenty of makeovers in that time. A recent renovation turned this old girl's rooftop from drab to fab with fairy lights, hanging plants, and new tables and chairs for the perfect garden party vibe. Watch your drink prices rise and fall like Wall Street and get yourself a bargain when the price is right!

Insider tip: Join the throngs of office-workers on a Friday evening for afternoon drinks with a buzzing vibe.

Eleven Rooftop Bar: Perched upon the 11th floor of 757 Ann St, take in the sweeping views of Brisbane city at all-day venue, Eleven. The venue will serve European-style share plates, light breakfasts, coffee and cocktails in sleek and stylish surrounds.

Insider tip: To find your way, keep an eye out for the blue neon signage that may tempt you to discover what lies 11 floors up.
