Man strikes Hungry Jacks employee with a bat during robbery

Police are currently investigating an incident at Hungry Jacks on Takalvan St.

A Queensland Police spokesman said a male armed with a bat and a knife approached two employees at about 4.30am.

"The man demanded money and then struck one of the employees with the bat," the spokesman said.

"Staff complied and handed over a sum of cash and the man then fled on foot in an unknown direction."

An employee was treated at the scene for minor injuries by Queensland Ambulance Service.

The restaurant was closed off to the public this morning and will reopen at around lunch time.

More to come.
