Maryborough pastor Chris Foley is in for an Origin blue
IT'S time we find out whether God is a Queensland supporter.
Eight straight - some would say of course God's a Queenslander!
Grace Community Church pastor and former Maryborough MP Chris Foley wasn't prepared to say.
He suggested God loved both states.
But Mr Foley, a passionate Maroon, promised to give a sermon in a Blues jersey should New South Wales win the 2014 series.
His congregation will gather at Maryborough Powerhouse on Wednesday night for game one on the big screen.
Blues supporters will cheer their side, Queenslanders will ride home theirs, God will probably watch from the most elevated seat in the house, but will his colours show?
"I've been saying for a few years now, that the next time the Blues win the series I'll preach in a Blues jersey," the pastor told the Chronicle.
"We've got a small gang of Blues supporters (at the church), I give them heaps all the time and they give it back to me."
Grace's Origin screening is open to all from 7pm at the Powerhouse (at the corner of Kent and Tooley Sts) with footy food on offer.
