Improvements to come for bridge

SAFETY improvements will be made to Jubilee Bridge on the Monto-Mt Perry Rd, Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey has announced.

The decision comes after Member for Callide Jeff Seeney asked a Question on Notice to the minister asking about the implementation of a bridge replacement.

Mr Bailey said the Department of Transport and Main Roads had analysed options for replacing the bridge.

"The preferred option improves safety for motorists by re-aligning the road approaches to current design standards and constructing a two-lane concrete bridge," he said.

"Preliminary design of the preferred option is currently ongoing.

"I note that the State Budget 2015-2016 will be handed down by the Treasurer on 14 July 2015.

"The detail of infrastructure to be funded in the State Budget will be released at that time."
