Impressive line-up of artists for festival
FOLLOWING the barnstorming success of festivities earlier in the year, Bundaberg Distillery Company (BDC) has announced that Australian rock and roll supergroup, Antipodean Rock Collective (ARC), has signed on as headliners for Saturday's Spirit of Bundaberg Festival.
With 33 Arias and 16 top-ten albums between them, ARC consists of four of Australia's most celebrated musicians including Jet's Mark Wilson, Spiderbait's Kram, Powderfinger's Darren Middleton and, returning once again after headlining the May show, You Am I's Davey Lane.
Middleton said the newly formed band got together as part of last year's World Cup celebrations in Brazil.
"I was asked to put the band together and afterwards thought 'this is really fun - we should continue doing this'," he said.
Drawing on a vast catalogue of hits from each of the members' respective bands, including No. 1 singles and albums, ARC's members are united in their love for high octane, electrifying shows that are as unique as they are rare.
October's gig will be the first ever Queensland show and one of the few remaining chances to catch them this year.
"We cover a lot of Australian and New Zealand songs from easy beats of the 60s, ACDC, Jet and more. We also play some of our own respective songs," Middleton said.
"We are really looking forward to putting on a fun, spontaneous performance in Bundaberg."
The Spirit of Bundaberg Festival will be the bands first Queensland and festival date of the year, making their performance a special one time only affair not to be missed.
ARC will be supported by a number of other acts that will be confirmed in the coming weeks, including The Grates and local support in the form of Young Dingoes.
The Spirit of Bundaberg Festival is on from 10am-8pm on Saturday at the distillery grounds.
