Hundreds of cannabis plants found during drug raid

A MAN has been charged after a search warrant was executed at an Upper Stone property near Ingham last week.

It is alleged that during this search of the Exelbys Road address on Thursday, June 23 around 269 mature cannabis plants, ranging in size from one to three metres, were located.

It will further be alleged detectives from Ingham CIB with the assistance of Townsville Tactical Crime Squad seized mature potted cannabis plants and a large quantity of dried cannabis.

During the search it is alleged a sophisticated irrigation system to cultivate the cannabis was also located.

All planted trees, dried cannabis and items used to allegedly grow the crop of illegal plants were seized by police as evidence.

A 46-year-old Upper Stone man was charged with producing dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs.

The man will appear at the Ingham Magistrates Court on July 14.
