Hugh opens charity coffee shop

HUGH Jackman has opened his own charity coffee shop.

The 'Real Steel' actor created the Laughing Man Coffee & Tea in New York - which sells tea, coffee and chocolates to raise money for good causes - and he even brought beverages out to young fans as they visited the opening of the store.

The 43-year-old star got the idea for the shop - which is part of the Laughing Man organisation and charity he founded with his friends Barry and David Steingard - when he met a coffee farmer named Dukale during a trip to Ethiopia in 2009.

Following the visit, Hugh felt "inspired" to give something back and this coincided with his family friends' plans to re-enter the coffee business.

Previously talking about the Laughing Man brand, he said: "I met a man who changed the way I looked at the world. As Dukale and I planted coffee trees together, I began to see the potential for one man's hard work to transform an entire community.

"While working with Dukale that day, I was so inspired by what I learned from him and his community. I made Dukale a promise to do my bit to help. Laughing Man Worldwide is the fulfillment of that promise."
