Huge weekend for dirt bike fans

DIRT bike riders will be in their element this weekend, when the second annual Eidsvold or Bust Adventure Ride roars into gear.

Organiser Trevor Keiler said a huge weekend was in store for the 30 motorbike riders, travelling from the Bundaberg, Maryborough, Biloela, Sunshine Coast and Gympie areas.

“It’s going to be great,” he said.

The Eidsvold Showgrounds will be the camping grounds for the riders, with the event officially getting underway this afternoon at 5pm.

To kick things off, the Eidsvold Fire Brigade will put on a barbecue, with all money raised going towards their social club.

“It’s going to be pretty laid back while people arrive.”

Mr Keiler said riders would head out to Cania Dam early tomorrow morning and would ride all the way to Mt Perry via as much dirt road tracks as possible.

“We’ll have a bit of a get-together that night and have a late start on Sunday,” he said.

The riders will head out west towards Gayndah on Sunday, with a possible stop-off at Paradise Dam.

“The riders from Gympie and Sunshine Coast will head off from there.”

Mr Keiler said he received great feedback from last year’s ride, with some asking for two events a year.
