Hot weather hits Bundy region
KEPNOCK resident Jessica Weaver headed straight for the water yesterday, as the second day of steamy weather hit the Bundaberg region this week.
The resident of 13 years recommended the causeway at Kelly’s Beach for a day at the coast.
“It’s more enclosed. It’s not choppy or anything and I can relax, along with the kids,” she said.
A Bureau of Meteorology forecaster said the hot weather was not unusual for this time of year and residents could expect tops of 30 or 31 degrees in the city over the next few days.
Inland, Gayndah citrus farmer Richie Walters experienced a hail storm about 9pm Tuesday — lasting about five minutes and damaging about 20% of his crop.
The farmer said it was unusual for hail to fall at night, but there was little damage around town.
