Horrible Bosses sequel not the worst, but not the best

Horrible Bosses 2 - MA15+ - 108 minutes - Comedy - Now Showing

Verdict: A completely lackluster sequel.

Kurt, Dale and Nick reunite in the sequel to 2011's hit comedy Horrible Bosses.

In the sequel, the three friends decide to start their own business, but their plans are shattered due to a slick investor, therefore, the trio decides to pull off another misguided kidnapping scheme.

Sean Anders, director of That's My Boy, is at the helm of this film.

This film was completely, and utterly, disappointing.

Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz join the cast, and are honestly, the films' two strongest strengths.

I also enjoyed cameos from Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Foxx.

The chemistry between Kurt (Jason Sudekis), Dale (Charlie Day) and Nick (Jason Bateman) has perfect comedic timing.

Undoubtedly, the film has hilarious moments, yet it also has failed and recycled jokes.

I liked the whole story behind the screenplay, despite it basically copying the first film, but just had different scenarios and outcomes.

Most of the film felt improvised and pointless.

The screenplay just felt bland and lazy.

Overall, Horrible Bosses 2 wasn't the best movie I've seen all year, and it certainly isn't the worst.

The comedy worked, some of the performances were great, but everything was bogged down by such a lackluster screenplay.

Horrible Bosses 2 should only be watched by the die-hard fans of the first film.
