Hoon attempts to bite cop after caught doing burnouts

A NUMBER of 000 calls were made to police on Monday after a man driving a Toyota Lexcen was seen doing burnouts on Banana St. 

Thanks to the help of six witnesses, police later seized the man's car and charged the 35-year-old with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Due to the driver's behaviour, Acting Sergeant Christopher Helsdon said the Maryborough man was taken to hospital where officers obtained a blood test. 

Sgt Helsdon said the man attempted to bite one of the officers when he was taken to hospital. 

Police are awaiting the man's blood test results. 

Also, Maryborough police issued a $376 ticket to a 19-year-old late Monday afternoon after he was caught doing a burnout on the corner of Alice and Pallas Sts. 

The teenager admitted to police that he driving recklessly by doing a burnout. 

He told police it was wet at the time.
