FIVE people have been charged with drug possession after detectives carried out drug raids on a number of Bundaberg homes.
Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Bishop said a number of search warrants were executed at three homes on Wednesday.
"As Operation Oscar Peach Tree detectives from the Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch executed a number of search warrants in the Bundaberg area," he said.
"As a result five persons were charged with a number of drug-related offences."
"They are all in their early-20s and all proceed to court in the next couple of weeks."
One woman and four men were charged with possessing dangerous drugs after police seized amphetamine, MDMA (also known as ecstasy) and marijuana.
Det Snr Sgt Bishop said the addresses came to the attention of police as a result of investigations and information from the public.
"It's a combination of assistance from the public and police investigative avenues and the cultivation of intelligence as part of an ongoing effort by the QPS to reduce drug activity in our region," he said.
"There were three warrants executed yesterday (Wednesday) ... in Kepnock, Bundaberg South and Bundaberg Central."
