Body could 'take days' to identify
POLICE say it could take days to positively identify a body found in the wreckage of a horror crash near Maryborough last night.
About 10pm a car exploded on impact when it crashed into a truck on the Bruce Highway near Five Mile Road.
Early indications suggested the driver of the car was a male but a police spokesperson said this afternoon that the trauma from the explosion made the identification process difficult.
The 49-year-old male truck driver is in a stable condition.
The Bruce Highway was closed in both directions until 7am.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
