NSW all-rounder Moises Henriques might have to wait a while longer before making his return from the international wilderness.

Henriques, 25, was struck on the hand while batting in the nets at the Gabba yesterday ahead of today's third one-day international against Sri Lanka.

Scans later cleared him of a broken finger, but it's still very swollen and a decision to include Henriques, who played two ODIs against India in 2009, won't be made until today.

Queensland quick Ben Cutting, due to play for the Brisbane Heat in tomorrow night's BBL final against the Perth Scrochers at the WACA, and off-spinning all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, are vying to play if Henriques is ruled out.

Captain Michael Clarke revealed it was the second time in two days that his NSW teammate had copped a blow to his hand.

"He got hit on Wednesday when bowling. I actually straight drove one back and he got his finger on it so it was a little bit sore but it was fine and then this happened," Clarke, who will bat at three after missing the first two games in the series to rest his hamstring, said.

If Cutting did play, Clarke said he was unsure whether the paceman could also line up in the BBL final.
