Help support Gracie Dixon Respite Centre

GRACIE Dixon Respite Centre supports people in need of a 'short term break with long term benefits' and supporting the respite centre at its annual cent sale could see you taking your own break to Lady Musgrave Island.

Bundaberg Regional Council Community Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said the cent sale, which raised funds to assist with the delivery of the facility's essential services, had attracted some incredible prizes including the day cruise to Lady Musgrave for two adults.

"Our annual cent sale is always a popular event, offering a fun-filled afternoon with plenty of prizes on offer," Cr Peters said.

"The money raised at this event allows Gracie Dixon to continue to offer the region's frail or at-risk elderly and disabled people an inviting and welcoming environment where they can find support and companionship whilst having an enjoyable time.

"I would encourage residents to head along to the cent sale and support this terrific cause."

Prizes already donated include homewares, children's toys, fishing and handyman equipment and books for all ages and so much more.

"There is a mountain of wonderful prizes gathering at Gracie Dixon already, thanks to the generous support of a number of local businesses.

"There will be plenty up for grabs on the day with raffles and whip-around draws planned throughout the afternoon."

Doors open at 11.30am for a 1pm start on Saturday, September 12 at the Civic Centre. Admission is $3 and includes afternoon tea and a chance to win the trip to Lady Musgrave.

Phone Gracie Dixon Respite Centre on 4130 4120 to book a table.
