Tributes flow after Trent's tragic death

A 22-YEAR-OLD Avoca man has died after his motorcycle and a car collided on Saturday night.

Tributes have flowed on social media for 22-year-old Trent McClenahan, who died after he was rushed to Bundaberg Hospital with critical injuries.

Initial investigations by Bundaberg Police indicate the crash on Barolin St, about 11.40pm, involved a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive.

According to police, the four-wheel drive was turning right into a residence when Mr McClenahan's motorcycle collided with it as it attempted to overtake.

Mr McClenahan was thrown from his bike.

Inspector for State Road Policing Operations Peter Flanders said the crash was a tragic event.

"It doesn't matter how a person dies, whether it be murder with intent or a traffic crash - the circle of people that it affects is still so great," Insp Flanders said.

"The sudden nature of traffic crashes, where families don't have time to say goodbye, makes them particularly vicious.

"The heartbreaking part about all of this is road trauma is completely avoidable."

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
