Hasler disputes stripping penalty that cost Bulldogs

CANTERBURY coach Des Hasler says referees were wrong to penalise the Bulldogs in golden point that led to Parramatta winning by one point.

After finished 12-all in regular time, the Bulldogs' Michael Lichaa was penalised for stealing from Tepai Moeroa.

The penalty help the Eels move downfield for Mitchell Moses to land a game-winning field goal.

Hasler said referee Henry Perenara was wrong to award the stripping penalty on advice from assistant referee Dave Munro.

"I thought the penalty in the extra time was a pretty tough call, to be honest. I think it was the pocket referee. I think he got it wrong,” Hasler said.

"But we had other opportunities. It was a tough game.”
